Kitchie Nadal
Poprock Princess turns Drama Queen

For the past three years, Poprock Princess’ Kitchie Nadal has been rendering songs for several TV series, film and other tribute albums. The inspiring thing about her is despite owning a talent that hovers in the international realm, she still prefers to write songs in her local tongue. Her hugest hit composition, “Wag na Wag”, is among the most loved Tagalog ballads of all time. Now, she comes up with an idea to release a compilation of her hit songs which were popularized mostly on television, a new must-have CD entitled “Drama Queen TV”.

Drama Queen TV contains two of the very popular theme songs of GMA-7’s prime-time top rated shows, I Love New York’s "Makulay na Buhay" and “Majika”. Recently, the theme Majika won in the 20th Awit Awards as Best Song in a TV series.

Drama Queen TV also contains the haunting "Buwan" and "Iniibig Kita," where Kitchie’s experimental, almost ethereal direction is most apparent. "Buwan" incorporates the use of indigenous sounds and evokes a dreamy yet sinister image of the dark. "Iniibig Kita," whose video was debuted on MYX, is a lilting, trippy love sonnet which makes use of hypnotic chanting. While the latter is part of Rounin soundtrack, Buwan was used in a Canadian indie film.

Completing the six-track record are two pleasant surprises: a rearranged "Wag na Wag Mong Sasabihin" and its purely instrumental version. Arranged with a piano, strings and an acoustic guitar, the new version lifts off from the edgier original and soars as a musical piece.

With all the tracks in Drama Queen TV, having appeared on and off screen, this young songwriter’s talent is undeniably vivid; she strikes a remarkable chord in the hearts of both listeners and many other fascinated viewers alike.

The graceful musician’s latest release — “Drama Queen TV” and its all-Filipino songs — once again demonstrates her amazing power as a Pinoy artist. The CD is executive produced by Roca Cruz of Be.Live Artists Management, produced and arranged by Jack Rufo, co-produced by Kitchie Nadal, released by GMA Records and distributed by Paragon Music Corporation and Universal Records nationwide.

Kitchie Nadal’s “Drama Queen TV” CD comes out with 5 additional backing tracks and is enclosed with a free guitar pick card.
